> SELL-OUT CROWD EXPECTED AT THE NATIONAL STADIUM

SINGAPORE (Jan 25, 2007) - Singapore's quest for a place in the final of the Asean Football Championship will be given a terrific boost. From the terraces that is.

A full house turn-out of 55,000 is expected at the National stadium on saturday night when Singapore take on Malaysia in the decisive semi-final leg with the tie nicely balanced at 1-1 from the first leg at the Shah Alam stadium.

Already tickets for the match have been on sale since Wednesday and the 5000 grandstand seats priced at S$10 each have been taken up.

"There are only the gallery seats priced at S$6 left and by the end of the day(Thursday) we have sold an estimated 25,000 tickets,"said the FA of Singapore(FAS) Media Officer Eric Ong.

Sales of tickets will continue right up to the day of the match and the FAS is confident all tickets will be sold.

"The signs are very positive. There has been a stready stream of people queing up to buy tickets at our booth at the FAS headquarters in Jalan Besar since the morning.

Ticket sales will go on right up to the afternoon on match day before the 8pm kick off," added Eric.

The Fas have also allocated a couple of thousand tickets to the FA of Malaysia, just in casethere is a request for it.

"Maybe there will be organised trips from the Malaysian fans and we are ready to accept themif they need tickets," added Eric.

According to Eric, the Singapore fans are expected to be dressed in their traditional red just like in the previous final where they beat Indonesia 5-2 in the two-leg encounter.

"Red has always been the colour of the Singapore football fans and it should be no exception this time," he added.

Singapore's best turnout in the championship so far has been the 22,000 crowd for their opening preliminary round Group B match against Vietnam and then followed by the match against Indonesia which attracted a 18,000 crowd to the National stadium.
